You can imagine the amount of devastation from the parents of this 5 year old girl who was refused from school because of her parent’s sexuality. Right after Labor day the two mothers were called in to speak with a pastor who had to let them know their child can no longer attend San Diego’s Mount Erie Christian Academy.

It wasn’t long into the conversation before the parent’s, who chose to remain nameless throughout this situation, decided to walk out of the school meeting. They were told it was somewhere written in the school handbook and it was possible to terminate tuition and release the child from being schooled at their facility. Only problem is this handbook was in fact revised over the summer especially for these parents. What didn’t make any sense was they chose to squeeze in the fine print Under the school’s statement of nondiscrimination.

The handbook declared the right to “refuse admission of an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, living in, condoning or supporting sexual immorality; practicing homosexual lifestyle or alternative gender identity; promoting such practices; or otherwise having the inability to support the moral principles of the school,” the handbook continued. The mother’s response was basically, had they known this was a school was discriminated they would have never enrolled their daughter in the first place and not only are they turning to legal matters but are disgusted with this Catholic School.
