People are probably going to read that headline and think Melo is drunk but in reality what is he supposed to say? He is the franchise player and needs to exude confidence to the rest of the guys on the roster. While most fans around the NBA expect the Knicks to struggle again this season, Melo is thinking on a much bigger picture.

In reality, the Knicks will have a tough time even making the playoffs in the eastern conference but that isn’t stopping Melo from trying to convince us this team has a real shot.
“S—, we’re competing. People might not believe that, but we’re definitely competing for that (championship),” Anthony proclaimed. “That’s always going to be the goal. Whether we get there or not depends on us and what we’re doing. That’s always our big-picture goal.”
Knicks fans love to hear him say that but the expectations of a championship on the immediate horizon are far fetched to say the least.
