According to federal inspectors on Friday (Oct 24), they say medical services at a California state prison are deemed inadequate after years of federal oversight.

Second California Prison’s Medical Care Considered Inadequate

The prison houses around 4,300 medium and minimum security inmates in Delano, about 30 miles north of Bakersfield in California.

This is second California prison considered medically inadequate as the state attempts to regain control of the medical system.

In August, the inspector general found that care at California Correctional Center in Susanville also has inadequate health care.

Fortunately, four other prisons previously received passing grades.
