Details have emerged from Meek Mill’s late friends death and the story is a little weary…

Meek Mill’s late rap affiliate Dex Osama (real name Byron Cox), was killed in the early hours of September the 7th, around 1:30 a.m at a crowded Detroit strip club called ‘Crazy Horse’, on Michigan Avenue. New details have emerged of what led to the slaying from Otis Davis, 46, and Dietrick Odums, 31. The testimony in court this week illuminated what actually went down.

Osama’s girlfriend, Chantell Sturdivant, is a stripper at the ‘Crazy Horse’ and was about to begin a dance for a customer when her boyfriend signaled for her to not continue. Chantell went over to Osama to elude the problem, when he angrily poured champagne on her and ordered her to get dressed. Sturdivant stated in the Detroit courtroom, “When he poured the champagne on me, I ran to the back.”

Police reports include two groups of men than began having an argument inside the club, then moved it outside when shots were fired. Osama was fatally shot, but made it to a nearby gas station where he ultimately collapsed and succumbed to the gunshot wound. Osama was 21 years old and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Sturdivant’s testimony was part of the preliminary examination for the two men (both convicted felons) charged with Osama’s murder. The hearing was held before the 36th District Judge Kenneth King, and will determine whether the defendants proceed to trial on felony charges.

Otis Davis, 46, faces charges of open murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and felony firearm. Dietrick Odums, 31, was charged with assault with intent to murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and felony firearm.

Odums’ attorney, Marlon Evans, stated his client was not the shooter and was “merely present at the scene of the incident.”

Davis’s attorney, Todd Perkins, said it is too early for him to comment on his client’s defense. Police records show prior to this incident, Davis was convicted of second-degree murder back in 1989. Spokesman for the Michigan Department of Corrections, Chris Gautz, revealed Davis had a 20-year minimum sentence in that case, was paroled in 2012 and discharged from parole last year.

Maria Miller, a spokeswoman for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, said more facts will emerge as the prosecution executes it’s court case.

Sturdivant said she was unsure if her boyfriend Dex Osama, was equipped with a firearm or any weapons that night, but she has seen him with several weapons in the past. The stripper and rapper couple had been together since April of this year. The night of the killing was the very first time Osama had seen her work.
