Social media has been going crazy over a video of a D.C. officer going toe to toe with a teenager. This time, the hostility is gone and they are actually having a good time. The two were battling this out to the beat and not with violence.

Aaliyah Taylor, 17 and a officer were caught on camera having a dance battle. According to the Washington Post, before the battle, there had allegedly been many fights and altercations beween the cops and the children of that area. Officers were there to break up the altercations and kept area safe.

Taylor started playing “Watch me (Whip/Nae Nae)” on her phone. She then asked the officer to chime in and battle her. The officer, who wishes to remain anonymous, showed off her dance moves. Taylor told the post that having this type of interaction with hthe cop actually changed her outlook on cops. After seeing her siblings and other cops have bad experiences with cops in her neighborhood she had a bad taste in her mouth about them. Now, she knows that all cops are not bad cops.

She released a statement saying,

“Instead of us fighting, she tried to turn it around and make it something fun. I never expected cops to be that cool. There are some good cops.”

Obama took to Twitter to express how happy he was to see this type of positive behavior coming from a cop for once.

He said,

“Who knew community policing could involve the Nae Nae? Great example of police having fun while keeping us safe.”
