Last night, artists and singers, including Will Smith, gathered together to celebrate Latin music at the Latin Grammy Awards.

Well, amidst all of the excitement leading up to the show, Latin artists, Los Tigres del Norte and Mexican rock band Maná found time to throw major shade at Donald Trump.

Los Tigres del Norte and Maná, struck the nerve that Latinos around the country have been nursing since Donald Trump’s tasteless comments about the Latin-American population.

Trump’s comments sparked a nationwide controversy, and even a reaction for Cuban sensation, Pitbull. But, at the Latin Grammy’s last night, a group of artists got together to let the world know that they have not forgotten.

The song is titled Somos Mas Americanos (which actually isn’t a new song) and as if the title isn’t a clear, direct shot at Trump, the banner that was waved after the performance sealed that deal.

The banner read “Latinos unidos no voten por los racistas.” For those of you who failed Spanish 101, the sign translates as “Latinos united do not vote for racists.”

The crowd stood and clapped with pride and support of the movement.

With Trump’s presidential campaign underway, this standup by the Latin community is huge for campaign numbers.

Latinos are known for standing together and for being very proud people, which makes the call to action only the first of many.
