J.R. Smith is one of the NBA’s class clowns. From untying opponents shoes to ridiculous facial expressions, we’ve seen it all from the former New York Knick.

In the latest on Smith, he has been accused of choking an NYC teen at a pizzeria earlier this month, but his attorney is trying to completely diffuse the situation by saying that his client is completely innocent.

Allegedly, Smith approached 19-year old, Justin Brown, after Brown taunted Smith for being traded from the Knicks.

Brown stated that NBA star,

“checked him against the exterior of the building and put his hands around Brown’s neck.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Smith’s newest professional home, also made a very brief statement saying that they did know about the alleged incident and that no further comment would be made by the team, as Smith’s lawyer has already addressed the media.

Alex Spiro, Smith’s attorney says that the allegations against his client at ‘absolutely false’ and that they don’t see this being a real legal issue.

“We don’t believe he’s going to be charged,”

Spiro told ESPN.com.

Smith has made no official comments, but did take to Twitter to at least say one thing before the case diminished into social media archives.
