Social media made the photo viral. Some people were so outraged they called the police department in the woman’s hometown. So many people called that the lines got tied up. Police say at one point these callers had the lines tied up completely.

Because social media users used Google to search for the woman’s hometown, they called three different places: Florida, Connecticut, and her actual hometown of Cary, NC. 45-year old Katharine F. Lemansky got arrested for the photo. She faces a fine and up to five months in jail.

Cary Police Capt. Randall Rhyne reported that in fact the dog faced no injury or hair loss from the tape. The point of the post remains to be seen.
