17-year-old Michelle Cardona suffered “bruising and redness to her face, scratches to her arms, and substantial pain,” according to Page Six, after Orange is the New Black star Dascha Polanco alleged punched, scratched, and pulled the hair of the teen.

Polanco, who plays Dayanara Diaz in OITNB, appeared in court on Thurs., Dec. 3 for the July incident, which was “a setup to try to get money,” said defense attorney, Gerald Lefcourt. “We’re confident the charges will be dismissed.”

“Ms. Cardona observed the defendant strike Ms. Cardona about the face and head with a closed fist at least three times, pull Ms. Cardona’s hair, and strike Ms. Cardona’s arms with the defendant’s hands and nails,” court papers show.

Polanco invited the teen to her home via text message. What led to the altercation remains mystery.
