A few Chicago rappers had a lot to say about Spike Lee’s new film, “Chi-raq.” Chance the Rapper added on to the heat as he also wasn’t feeling the movie. Lee said that the film was designed to “change people’s lives.”

Chance took to Twitter with his feelings about the movie. He said,

“Let me be the one from Chicago to personally tell you we not supporting this film out here.”

He went on Twitter today and wrote,

“That shit get ZERO love out here. Shit is goofy and it’s a bunch of ppl from NOT around here telling u to support that shit. The people that made that shit didn’t do so to ‘Save Lives.’ It’s exploitive and problematic.”

Lee said before that the movie was based off of a Greek play Lysistrata which is where woman stop having sex in order to keep local violence off of the streets.

Chance went on to say,

“The idea that women abstaining from sex would stop murders is offensive and a slap in the face to any mother that lost a child here. You don’t do any work with the children of Chicago, You don’t live here, you’ve never watched someone die here. Don’t tell me to be calm.”

Clearly the real Chi-raq is not feeling this movie! Lets see what the box office says though. Chi-Raq is now in theaters.
