Lionel Delpit III and his girlfriend Breon Stewart were so happy to start a new chapter of their life. The two were patiently awaiting the arrival of baby Lionel Delpit IV. Unfortunately, their happy start would have a tragic ending as the New Orleans couple was murdered. They were sitting in their car when a gunman opened fire on them. The couple and the baby died.
Responders say that they tried their best to save the couple and their baby but they could not do it.Lionel’s cousin Corey Rayford said Lionel was super excited to have the baby.
“He was so excited about being a dad. All he talked about was the baby. I’m trying to get my head together, I just don’t know.”
Detectives have no clue as to how many shooters they were but they are following potential suspects.
Nick Cannon was touched by this tragic story. He donated $1,000 to the family on their GoFundMe page. The page received over $8,000. Toya Wright also donated $250 to the family and also shared her condolences. Breon Stewart was a 2011 Valedictorian at her school George Washington Carver High School. She was expecting her bundle of joy by Christmas. Her and her sister planned on having their babies around the same time. Stewart was working two jobs to support her family. May their souls res in peace and may their families receive the proper closure. Hopefully police find these shooters.
