Officer Jesse Hartnett was shot in his arm three times before returning fire to his shooter on Thursday. 30-year-old Edward Archer was the shooter. He committed the crime in the name of Isis. Archer walked up to the police car and fired at least 11 times using a stolen police gun.

Police Commissioner Richard Ross, Jr did a press conference and said Archer “confessed to committing this cowardly act in the name of Islam,”

Ross says that Archer believes that the police believe in things that are very parallel to Islam teachings. The department of homicide said Archer kept saying,

“I follow Allah and I pledge allegiance to the Islamic State. That is the reason why I did what I did.”

IN 2013, Archer apparently had been arrested and charged for aggravated assault and making terroristic threats. Mayor Jim Kenney released a statement saying,

“In no way, shape or form does anyone in this room believe that Islam or the teaching of Islam have anything to do with what you’ve seen on this screen.”

The officer who was shot, has lost a lot of blood. He is currently receiving from a broken bone and nerve damage. We are praying for a speedy recovery.
