IFWT_Pusha_T_Autobiography

VICE has launched its Autobiographies series. Amongst the list of actors, artists, athletes and designers to be focused on, Pusha T leads the pack.

The Darkest Before Dawn rapper from Norfolk, VA hones in on his core fanbase, the moment he began to write raps, the rise and demise of The Clispe-thanks to his brother Gene Thornton-and the relationship he and his brother shares.

“I use to be so upset, man. I use to think that me and my brother could do whatever we wanted to the rap game,” King Push recalls of the time his brother decided that rapping was not the road he wanted to follow. “I realized we just weren’t in the same place anymore. He had a family, he had other things going … he had to answer for. He was just so into his convictions, and I just knew where he stood that when he told me ‘no’ after I gave him all the breakdowns and the specs of everything, there was nothing I could say.”
