First off lets just congratulate Idris Elba on his double win tonight at the SAG Awards but he shouldn’t be happy that he won two awards but he he made history tonight! Not only is he the very first male to take home two SAG trophies in one night, but he is also the first black person to do so! He should be so proud of himself. Idris Elba accepted the award for Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Beasts of No Nation as well as a trophy for Best Male Actor in a Television Movie or Mini Series for Luther. Elba should not only be celebrating his double win tonight, but he must raise a glass to the fact that he made history! He is not only the first male to take home two SAG awards in one night but, he is also the first black person to do so.

These wins come during a very important time in Hollywood, following all of the controversy surrounding the all-white Oscar nominations.
