The FBI is currently investigating a letter that was sent to Donald Trump Jr. The letter contained a white powder of some sort that doesnt seem to be hazardous. The letter was sent to Trump Jr.’s apartment building. The letter had a boston postmark on it. When Lara Trump, Eric’s wife opened the letter, that is when the powder fell out. The letter read “If your father does not drop out of the race, the next envelope won’t be a fake.” The signature on the letter read “X.” I knew it was only a matter of time before we saw something like this.
At this moment, The U.S. Secret Service protection is only given to Donald Trump and not his family. After receiving the letter, the Trump family alerted police who then alerted the secret service. Homeland Security undersecretary and current ABC News consultant, John Cohen, says,
“The Trump campaign has been very visible, has been described by a number of people as being divisive, and just as we have seen strong actions by his supporters, law enforcement would expect strong reactions from his detractors, Unfortunately, in the time we’re living in, that could also mean the potential for acts of violence against the candidate and those associated with the candidate.”
Cohen says he does not believe this has anything to do with the series of hacking that Trump has been receiving but they are looking into the matter.
