Joe Pytka directed the 1996 blockbuster version of “Space Jam” which of course starred Michael Jordan and did serious numbers at the box office. Whether it’s hate or just some insight from someone who has been through it, Pytka is saying “Space Jam 2” essentially has no chance to succeed and they should drop the idea before it’s really too late. Well damn!

Pytka, while speaking with “The Hollywood Reporter“, didn’t hold back his views of the sequel. “Don’t do it. It’s doomed. Michael Jordan was the biggest star on the planet. When we did Space Jam, there was a perfect storm of players and ex-players available — Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing… They all had a persona that complemented the film. There are none around like that now”.

Since the movie likely won’t even be completed for a couple more years, Pytka seemed to insinuate that Lebron isn’t even the biggest star and has been surpassed by Steph Curry. At the moment that’s still debatable but if we are talking another couple years, well then that could very well be totally true by then.

The movie already won’t do as good as the first because Michael Jordan was involved in that and there are still plenty of Lebron haters out there who won’t see it but only time will tell. Let’s hope they really don’t take that long.
