The beef between Adrien Broner and Floyd Mayweather has always been a weird one.  It reportedly began when Mayweather spoke unfavorably about Broner in an interview.  Floyd didn’t like when Adrien threw the change in Walmart.  Mayweather said he was a bigger star than Broner is at his age.  Broner fired back saying Mayweather isn’t really a big brother, that he’s constantly talking bad about him in public and that Mayweather never really wants to see anyone around him get bigger than he is.  Broner even recently dropped a TMT diss track called “Slammer”.  Broner continued to speak about the issue in an interview with The Durtty Boyz.

Broner says they’re still cool and Mayweather told him “great performance” after his last fight, but the two haven’t really sat down and spoke about their issues.

Then when asked about the supposed big brother/little brother mentorship between them, Broner threw the cordiality out the window.

“That big brother sh-t out the window.”

“Because at the end of the day, I felt like I was only hurting myself with calling him big bro.  It’s good to look up to somebody, but when you ‘big bro’ this and ‘big bro’ that, that’s automatically putting you beneath them, and right now I really have what it takes to surpass him even though he’s still undefeated. But at the end of the day if you’re not boxing and people not watching you fight, you’re not really relevant.  You still gotta do things to stay relevant, and right now I’m relevant.  I’m the hottest sh-t out right now!”
