Whitney Houstons many awards , stunning wardrobe dresses , and wedding dress are amongst the many other high value personal items that will be auctioned off later on this month. An auction held by auction house Heritage Auctions and sanctioned by her estate will take place the friday the 24th and saturday the 25th where all the late great Whitney Houston memorabilia will be up for grabs.
“The Houston family actually reached out to the president of our company, ” says Garry Shrum, director of Entertainment and Music Memorabilia at Heritage Auctions. “We had worked with a good friend of theirs, David Gest. He knew us and liked what we did and told the Houston family about us, and my colleague Margaret Barrett and I went out to New Jersey and listened to what they wanted to do. After Much back and fourth with director shrum , they bounced ideas until they finally decided on a 119 piece collection. The idea of the collection shows pieces of the legend from the start of her journey up all the way up the top of her success. The most buzzed-about item on the internet is her intricate, one-of-a-kind Marc Bouwer wedding dress, which she wore to wed Bobby Brown in 1992. See Some of the pieces in the gallery above. “This is probably going to do half a million or more,” Shrum predicts. A portion of the proceeds will go to a charity of the family’s choosing.
