We all love the social media platform called snap chat; well of us except the family of Tovonna Holton. Snapchat is a social media platform that allows people to post videos and pictures for a 24 hour time frame.
A freshman from Wiregrass Ranch High School in Tampa Florida was recorded in the shower naked on snapchat for the whole high school to see. This caused her to commit suicide. Her mother found her dead on the floor with a gun shot from herself in her head. Her mother said that Tovonna Holton came home a few days earlier stating “I owe them mommy, I owe them mommy,” but she did not know what that meant. Florida police officials are currently investigating this matter. A social media “stop the cyber bulling” program is being launched in the name of Tovonna Holton. Hopefully these Florida police officials can get to the bottom of this and this social media cyber bullying can come to an end.
