Mike Conley has never made an all-star team. He has never been selected to play for team USA in the Olympics. He has never won an MVP award or even been recognized as the best player at his position. Today however, none of that matters because one thing he does have is the richest contract in NBA history! The Grizzlies have reportedly offered a five year deal worth $153 million. On average he will make more than $30 million per season which is the highest ever.

Conley met with the Dallas Mavericks on Friday afternoon, but the Grizzlies were always widely considered heavy favorites to keep the nine-year veteran, who was drafted by Memphis with the fourth overall pick in 2007. The Mavs and other suitors could only offer Conley a max contract worth approximately $114 million over four years.

Conley averaged just over 15ppg last season to go with 6apg. Not exactly staggering numbers that would deserve a contact like this but more power to him. Memphis obviously sees their future with Conley is worth the money.

The Grizzlies were spending big today as they also gave Chandler Parsons $94 million over four years.
