Federal officials are investigating an incident that took place in South Dakota involving a Delta flight this past Friday. The Delta flight that originally had a destination for the Rapid City Regional Airport in South Dakota after leaving a airport in Minnesota mistakenly landed at the Ellsworth Air Force Base also in South Dakota.

The Ellsworth Airport Base was only 10 miles away from the the correct destination at the Rapid City Regional Airport.The Delta flight had about 130 passengers aboard when landing at the Ellsworth Air Force Base. While an investigation is being conducted by the National Safety Safety Board, the crew aboard who have been placed off duty. The passengers were able to reach the correct destination at the Rapid City Regional Airport in South Dakota after a few hours.
