With the killings of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and many more lives by the hands of the police in the united states racial tensions are high. The height of the tension may have came when five Dallas PD officers were shot and killed by Michah Xavier, a veteran soldier who was deeply disturbed by the slayings of his fellow people.

This has caused the Bahamas to issue the travel advisory. Portions of the statement from the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs give specific instructions.

“In particular young males are asked to exercise extreme caution in affected cities in their interactions with the police. Do not be confrontational, and co-operate,”

“Do not get involved in political or other demonstrations under any circumstances and avoid crowds.”

The advisory surrely is out of the norm. Usually the U.S. is the one warning its citizens on travel to other nations rarely are the advisories aimed towards us. The advisory comes as the independence day of Bahama approaches which is July 10th. On this day Bahamians are known to travel to many places with the most popular of them being the united states.
