Sunday morning there was a deadly shooting that took place in Baton Rouge, La, killing three officers and injuring three more. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown but one of the suspects in the shooting was shot and killed by police. Police are still looking for two other suspects who fled the crime scene. Montrell Jackson was on of the three police officers that was killed during the deadly shooting. Just days before Jackson’s tragic death he posted a very heartfelt message to Facebook.

Montrell Jackson posted a very heartfelt message to his Facebook page days before his death. The Baton Rouge police officer stated in the post how “disappointed” and how he was “tired physically and emotionally.”

The violence between police and civilians is at an all time high. Although police have been killing innocent black men for years it’s safe to say that the black community is completely fed up. But can an you blame them? In order to sustain a movement to get African-American voices heard to stop police brutality it has to be done PEACEFULLY. Although people want to even with police violence is not the answer. Black people are putting their lives at extreme risk when then they go outside shooting police. I truly and honestly feel that if what has been happening continues even worse things will not only happen between police and the black community but I think hate groups will start targeting innocent Afican-American people in random places and at random times. Hopefully one day, sooner than later, the violence will stop. One day I hope to only write about positivity and growth between all people.

Make sure you read Montrell Jackson’s Facebook post above in the gallery. It’s very touching. Prayers go out to his family and anyone else who has been directly affected by what happened Sunday in Baton Rouge. My thoughts and prayers also go out to the families of the Dallas police officers who were killed, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile’s loved ones and whom ever else has had to deal with a tragic death due to violence.
