Online dating did not have a happy ending for Alexander Pieter Cirk who spend 10 days in an airport waiting for his online girlfriend who never showed up. Cirk flew to Changsha in the Hunan province of China to meet a woman named Zhang. The two had been reportedly dating for two months. Apparently Zhang did not expect Cirk to be serious about coming to see her. Or, maybe she really did not exist.
After sitting in the airport for 10 days, Cirk was sent to the hospital for exhaustion. According to Zhang, she still wanted to keep her relationship open with Cirk. She claims at the time of his surprise visit, she was getting plastic surgery done in another city. Cirk returned to his home in the Netherlands Monday.
Lets hope he’s done with internet dating for a while.
