IFWT_John Saunders

Beloved ESPN host John Saunders has passed away unexpectedly at 61-years old.

Saunders joined ESPN in 1986 and was one of the familiar on-air faces for nearly 30 years.  He hosted studio and play-by-play programming as a host of The Sports Reporters, NFL Primetime and anchored SportsCenter. He covered college football, basketball and the NHL for the network.

ESPN tweeted, “We are heartbroken to report longtime ESPN personality John Saunders has died. He was 61.”

The details surrounding Saunders’ death are unclear but officials say he died in New York and there is NO suspicion of foul play.

Saunders is survived by wife, Wanda, and daughters, Aleah and Jenna.

He will be dearly missed.
