Last week, Eminem was all over the headlines. No, he didn’t release any new music. In fact, he didn’t even do anything at all. Instead, it was Hot 97’s Ebro Darden who spoke about a joke he’d shared with Drake at OVO Fest about Em dissing him on Joe Budden’s behalf. (Joe is signed to Em’s label via Slaughterhouse.)

Tons of people missed the part where Ebro said it was a joke, and began speculating that Em would soon be dissing the OVO rapper. And while of course that wasn’t true, all that talk ended up doing some good!

Not only did it make for quite the moment last night at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, but it all gave Em a huge sales boost. The rapper’s 2002 album The Eminem Show has jumped all the way from 97 up to 47 on the chart this week! Crazy!

I’m sure he’s not mad at that one bit!
