During a recent interview, Fat Joe got a chance to speak on the legacy of Big Pun. Joe spoke on Rumors of taking Big Pun’s money and not helping out his widow, Liza Rios, and her kids. Joe says that the rumors are false. He went on to say the only one keeping Pun’s legacy alive is he and Remy Ma.
Joe says he helped Pun’s wife raise $1 million dollars and gave her more on top of that million. Unfortunately she did not do right by the money and ran through it. He says
I’m just a human being. I’m from the projects too. I came from the fucked up too, my family fucked up too. Ain’t no security. I ain’t no Kennedy, I ain’t no Diddy Combs, I ain’t no Jay-Z, I ain’t got it like them. I’m supposed to support somebody else’s family for 20 years? Niggas gotta get jobs.”
Joe says he did all he could do for Pun’s wife and does not owe her anything. In fact, Joe says if it wasnt for he and Remy no one would even care about Pun and all he has did for hip-hop.
“I had to drill that in her head. These are the only niggas trying to rep your man.”
