California State University is Los Angeles is about to offer racially segregated housing, which feels like we’re regressing. However, this actually comes per request from the Black Student Union, who want to minimize “racist attacks,” “racially insensitive remarks,” and other “micro-aggressions” against the Black student body.

“[It] would provide a cheaper alternative housing solution for Black students,” CSLA spokesman Robert Lopez said. “This space would also serve as a safe space for Black CSLA students to congregate, connect, and learn from each other.”

Other schools that have already implemented the idea include UC Davis, UConn, and Berkeley. What are your thoughts?
