French Montana was originally supposed to drop his sophomore album, MC4, on August 19 – the long-awaited follow-up to his 2013 debut, Excuse My French. Moments before its release, however, French delayed the project, citing sample clearances. It was odd, considering the album had already been pressed up and shipped to stores, which means pulling it resulted in quite the money loss for his label. (Target even ended up accidentally putting the album out, which resulted in a leak of the entire project.)

LA Reid, the head of French’s label home at Epic, went on to reveal the real reason for the delay was a lack of buzz. However, the pre-order link was still available on iTunes, and the release date had been updated to October. Now, that has disappeared all together.
