Chad Kelly, the University of Mississippi quarterback and nephew of NFL hall of famer, Jim Kelly, almost threw his entire potential NFL future away last night during a high school game. Ole Miss doesn’t play this weekend so Chad was back home in the Buffalo, NY area to watch his younger brother play for St. Joe’s high school as they took on Timon High. Everything was fine until Kelly’s younger bro got hit late out of bounds and it sparked a massive brawl which Chad was quick to get involved in.

As you saw, things got pretty chaotic rather quickly. Kids on both teams were attacking each other and Chad was trying to get involved and attack some of the kids from Timon. Luckyily for him, there were people there with sense who saw him on the field and got him in their grasp and under control. If he had touched one kid from the opposing team, his season as a college qb would have been over, as well as a potential future in the NFL.

While I completely understand him wanting to stick up for his younger brother, in a case like that you have to let teammates, coaches and other adults sort things out. If this was a college game his brother was playing in, he definitely wouldn’t have ran onto the field from the stands.

I’m sure he will get a harsh reminder from his college coaches of how stupid it was but at least nothing happened and it’s over. Chad was already a questionable pro prospect before this incident and this didn’t help things in the eyes of pro scouts.
