Drake told us he was coming for it all this year and I must say, he did not lie. He has now set a new record while being nominated for 13 American music awards nominations. Drake has actually beat out Michael Jackson’s 32-year record of 11 from 1984.

Drake is now leading all 2016 American Music Awards nominees. The nominees include Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite R&B song. Two of the entires stemmed from the Collaboration of the Year, for his feature on Rihanna’s “Work,” “One Dance” with Wizkid and Kyla, and Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Album categories for both his album ‘Views’ and his joint project with Future, ‘What a Time to Be Alive.’

Rihanna has received seven nominations. Adele and Justin Bieber have five nominations and Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers received four nominations each.
