Coming off a crazy year for Chance The Rapper, he’s also starring in his first full length feature film coming out next year.

The film is called Slice and was secretly filmed in his hometown of Chicago over the summer. The film was written by Austin Vesely, a frequent director and collaborator of Chance’s who also handled the music video for his “No Problem” track featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.

Slice centers on a so-called outlaw in a “mysterious city” who finds himself framed for a series of murders targeting pizza delivery dudes. The film still has a lot of question marks around it to the publicly eye, but that probably won’t be for long now that word is out. It’s going to be released by A24 which also distributed Shia LaBeouf’s current awards buzz recipient American Honey.

Back in 2015, Director Austin Vesely said on the initial short film project:

“At some point I became interested in developing the idea into a bigger world. There was a lot of stuff in the short script I thought could be expanded upon in an interesting way. I just developed a feature-length script over the last year and a half/two years.”
