Despite the Raptors becoming more and more successful on the court in recent years, many folks still think of Drake first when they hear about the team. Given his role as “global ambassador” he sometimes seems like more of a focal point than the players themselves. That feeling will continue next week as the team announced a night in honor of him on November 16th.

Last year when the Raptors held “Drake night”, the team sported special OVO jerseys and setup a “hotline bling” booth in the arena. It’s not like Drake personally needs anymore attention but the Raptors aren’t stupid. They know the draw he brings to the team and the arena, even though he is rarely there.
He actually seems to be at other teams games even more so than the Raptors, especially last week when he went to back to back Warriors games while the Raptors were playing at home. He can’t really be a team ambassador if he would rather constantly be seen at other games around the league.
No word yet on what to expect for this years Drake night but I’m sure it will involve some sort of different look for the team and should be a good night for the fans on hand.
