Karl Anthony Towns brought the Joel Embiid hype machine back down to earth a little bit last night. In what was touted as a matchup of two of the leagues future big men superstars, the game between the Wolves and Sixers, as well as the personal matchup between Towns & Embiid turned out to be no contest.

The Wolves won 110-86 thanks to 35 points from Andrew Wiggins and 25 points to go along with 10 rebounds for Towns. Embiid wasn’t able to do much, finishing with only 10 points and was on the wrong side of this learning experience courtesy of Towns.

Embiid is still adjusting to the league after having no game action for two seasons and it’s clear he still has plenty of catching up to do to be a good player each night. Towns took him to school last night and it will likely help Embiid in the long run.
