The officer who shot and killed Keith Lamont Scott will not face any charges sadly. 15 prosecutors agreed that Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Officer Brentley Vinson had a reason to shoot Scott. He was shot and killed on September 20 in an apartment complex parking lot. In a video, his relatives screamed that he did not have a weapon. According to “all the credible evidence” Scott was actually armed.
Scott’s DNA was reportedly found on the weapon that officers claim was found on the scene. There were at least three officers who claim they saw a gun on the scene also. The police dash cam video did not show that. Scott’s wife was there during the time of the shooting. She was recording her own footage. You can hear her telling the officer not to shoot her husband. She went on to tell the officer that her husband was not armed with a gun on him. Moment later we hear the shots fired. The wife ran to her husband but was stopped by other officers on the scene. I’m just wondering why no one but the officers have knowledge of this weapon that was supposedly found on the scene. I mean if it was there why wasnt it bought to the public ?
