Wow…just wow. You’re own family won’t even support you? Man do we live in trying times…

Chrisette Michele we know has been receiving a ton of backlash before and after performing at President Trump’s Inauguration Ball last Friday night, mainly from social media, but now she reveals even her family wasn’t with her. It should be noted that her “family” are Black Panther members and activists.

Michele revealed to Billboard:

“Originally I was supposed to perform directly after his first speech, and I had done that with Barack Obama before, so I was used to that kind of experience. And the woman who organized the event came and told me, “Now you’re going to go first and he’s going to go after you.” I looked her in the eye and said, “My family has disowned me. If you decide to Google me, you’ll see that America is writing about me in their newspapers. I’m the black poster child for discord right now, and he’s not going to shake my hand?” So no, I didn’t get to meet him.”

In the interview she talked about her upcoming project “No Political Genius,” Trump supporting anti-abortion orders, her reaction to the Women’s march this weekend, and a ton more.

This is beyond “petty”…what happened to respecting everyone’s opinion? Especially your family’s…and when did we become so reliant on one person to fix all of the problems in our lives? I know I don’t depend on a government for my bread and butter, health, or anything else for that matter…the problem here is communication, the lines are blurred. If people took a second to talk to each other, and really LISTEN to one another’s concerns, regardless of what community we come from, wouldn’t that make much more sense than disregarding each other’s humanity?
