Charles Barkley wouldn’t be himself if you didn’t get an attention grabbing quote from him.  He was at the annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament in Lake Tahoe, where he is showing off an improved golf swing and speaking to the media. That included an interview on CSNBayArea.com, the home of the Golden State Warriors.  During the interview he discussed the Finals between the Warriors and the Cavaliers.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 105-97 in game 6 winning the series 4-2.  Despite LeBron James efforts, it simply wasn’t enough to stop the surging Warriors.  During the postgame press conference James was disappointed, subdued, and contemplative.  His overall demeanor was described in five words,  “We ran out of talent.”  The Cavaliers were without two-thirds of the “Big 3”, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love and they also were without center Anderson Varejao.  During the presser, James was sure to continually point that out.


NBA: LeBron James Responds to Possibly Winning Finals MVP & Losing Championship

LeBron James has been an absolute monster during the NBA Finals averaging 36.6 points, 12.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists through five games against the Golden State Warriors.  During game 5 James put up a triple-double of 40 points, 14 rebounds ad 11 assists.  No player has had a 40 point triple-double since Jerry West.  There’s one other thing West did that James might end up doing as well.

During game 5 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, LeBron James put up a triple-double of 40 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists.  The last person to ever put up a 40 point triple-double was Jerry West in 1969.  But… despite all that, the Warriors beat the Cavaliers 104-91 taking a 3-2 series lead.  Following the game, LeBron James did his usual post game presser and didn’t seem dejected at all.  In fact, James seemed very confident and had a good reason why.
