NBA: Adam Silver Wants to Expand All-Star Rosters After Damian Lillard is Left Off

Every year the NBA All-Stars are announced and every year there’s a huge debate about who was snubbed.  This year was no different especially with so many amazing players in the Western Conference.  Initially both Damian Lillard and DeMarcus Cousins were left off the roster but with Kobe Bryant’s season-ending injury, commissioner Adam Silver was forced to choose between the two.  The decision was so difficult it influenced Silver to want to expand All-Star rosters.

NBA: League Says No NBA Team Coming to Seattle Any Time Soon

Since the Seattle Sonics were relocated and changed to the Oklahoma City Thunder, fans in Seattle have been begging to bring a franchise back to the city.  They tried to make it happen when the Sacramento Kings were up for sale and again with the Milwaukee Bucks, neither was successful.  This time the Mayor Ed Murray met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver to discuss the possibility of the NBA expanding and including a new Sonics team.  Unfortunately he was hit with another rejection.

NBA: Adam Silver on Tanking: “I absolutely don’t think any team is trying to lose”

NBA commissioner Adam Silver says that the perception of tanking in the league is greater than the reality of it.  He’s either really delusional or just trying to save face and not make the league look bad.  I’m going with the latter.

NBA: Adam Silver – “I’d Prefer Players Didn’t Wear ‘I Can’t Breathe’ Shirts”

In light of the social justice issues and protests, athletes have chimed in giving their stance on matters. Derrick Rose set the trend, with many other NBA players following in his footsteps and donning ‘I Can’t Breathe’ shirts on the court in support of Eric Garner. Well, NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, has taken a stand regarding recent protests in light of Eric Garner as well…he understands the meaning and thought behind it, but “prefers players didn’t wear [the shirts] on the court.” Sheesh, hit the jump for further comments!

NBA: Phil Jackson Not Amused By Adam Silver’s Jokes About Knicks Struggles With the Triangle Offense

It’s still early in the season but the Knicks are visibly struggling as they learn the Triangle Offense.  It’s a system Phil Jackson used to win 11 rings as a coach of the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers.  As the Knicks new president of basketball operations, Jackson hired his former player Derek Fisher and both are trying to teach the system to the Knicks.  Obviously it’s going to take some time for them to get it but Jackson isn’t interested in jabs from the NBA commissioner, Adam Silver in the meantime.

NBA: Michael Jordan Isn’t Going To Like This, Hornets Player Arrested For Domestic Violence

The NFL has had it’s troubles recently with what seems an onslaught of domestic violence situation involving it’s players. Now the NBA is drawing some of that same negative attention as a member of the Charlotte Hornets was arrested and charged with domestic violence, assault and malicious destruction of property. You can bet neither Michael Jordan nor NBA commissioner Adam Silver are gonna be happy about this.
