Opening Night Of The Tupac Shakur Exhibit Brought Out Afeni Shakur, YG, John Singleton & More

The Tupac Shakur Exhibit is on display for the world to see; almost. The public’s eyes can touch down on All Eyez on Me: The Writings of Tupac Shakur, beginning April 22. However, some were allowed to view the precious artifacts of the late great west coast rapper, a little sooner. Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, his sister Sekyiwa Shakur and stepbrother Mopreme Shakur were among the audience members who viewed the Q&A panel session with YG, John Singleton, Chuck D, Cheo Coker and more well-known associates of the rapper. Including ‘recollections and insights’ of Tupac, was the conversation of when Singleton would release the highly anticipated biopic on the skillful artist. “Tupac’s soul would come back and haunt my ass if it wasn’t done right,” he says on taking his time with the masterpiece. “His journey was so specific, but it affected billions of people.” True. Tupac’s Mom Is Suing For $1.1 Million For What?!

Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur (who is the co-administrator of his estate,) has filed a lawsuit against E1 (formerly Koch Records), claiming they owe her royalties from Pac’s Beginnings: The Lost Tapes, which was released in June 2007. According to the suit, E1 bought the rights to Tupac’s music from a bankrupt Death Row in July (unclear whether they mean July of this year, or of 2007) and they now owe his estate $1.1 million. She’s also asking for the master recordings of all Pac’s unreleased music. No comment yet from E1.

Tupac’s name has been coming up in lots of conversations lately, with his mother, Afeni Shakur releasing unfinished work of his to the creation of a biopic. Tupac’s Mother Will Be Releasing Every Single Piece Of Work He Did !?!?

It’s like his work is never ending…forever lasting. Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother is the head of his estate, however she is passing some things along to Jampol Artist Management. Like, the unfinished pieces of work and unreleased ideas. Afeni Shakur released this statement: “I believe it is our responsibility to make sure that Tupac’s entire body of work is made available for his fans. My son left many incomplete pieces and even more unfinished ideas. Using the blueprints he gave us, I am committed to fulfilling this duty.” The fans of yesterday, today, and tomorrow will have the opportunity to experience [more] work of one of the GREATEST to ever do it. Tupac’s mother mentions, about Jampol Artist Management that they “will find innovative ways to continue to keep his music, his message, and his legacy alive.” This is great! Afeni Shakur Loves Tupac Musical

The hopeful producers of a Broadway musical that uses the music of the late, great Tupac Shakur got a major supporter, Afeni Shakur. The producers showed Ms. Shakur a rough preview of “Holler If You Hear Me” and she loved it!
