Over the weekend we learned that he was charged with DUI (his second time) after crashing his truck — pills and weed were also found in his vehicle. NFL: Roddy White Defends Aldon Smith After His DUI Charge & Throws a Shot at NFL Countdown Crew
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was recently arrested and charged with a DUI; marijuana and pills were also found in his vehicle. He was released on bail and returned to his team. He’s come under fire in the media for his actions and was criticized by the NFL Countdown crew which is comprised of former players Cris Carter, Tom Jackson and Keyshawn Johnson. Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White decided to come to the aid of Smith and threw in a shot at the Countdown crew while he was at it. Read more after the jump.

NFL: SMH, San Francisco 49ers Star Arrested Today For DUI
News is just breaking that San Francisco All-Pro linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested early this morning on suspicion of DUI. Police responded to the scene of a car accident involving one car. Smith had crashed and police determined without question that he was under the influence. He was taken to jail, with no word if he sustained any injuries from the minor accident. Smith is one of the 49ers best defensive players and if he has to miss any games due to suspension or injury it will cost them on the field. It will also cost him in his wallet.
