Austin Rivers earned new-found respect after showing out in the playoffs earlier this year.  The Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks were all at his door.  He had the option to leave and get more minutes and more money with a new team.  Instead, he opted to stay and sign a three-year, $35 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, the team his dad Doc Rivers is the president and coach of, but Austin says that doesn’t mean he has it easier there.

The Golden State Warriors absolutely demolished the Los Angeles Clippers 120-75 on Monday night.  Things definitely didn’t go well for Clippers guard Austin Rivers who finished with 1 point, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Rivers went 0-of-4 from the three-point line, including this missed open three that led to laughs from Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green who were sitting on the bench during the Warriors big lead.

However, 11 stitches and another quarter later, Rivers made his return because the Clippers needed ever player they had last night.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Thursday, a day after throwing a seat cushion into the stands at Sacramento, injuring a woman who was sitting somewhat close to the court. He apologized to a fan who was hit but the didn’t stop the league from handing down discipline.
