Desiigner Is Holding Drake Back From The One Thing He Hasn’t Achieved Yet

Drake has had tons of hits, but none of them have hit number one on his own accord. While yes, he’s been in the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 on his features with Rihanna (both, in fact), Drizzy’s solo songs have never made it that high, though he came thisclose with “Hotline Bling”…and now again with “One Dance.” The song has broken streaming records in the UK and even given him his first number one in his home country of Canada, but as it sits at number two in the U.S. right now, Desiigner’s “Panda” is currently keeping him from the feat he so desires. If he drops the video in the next couple of weeks, it could certainly give him the push he needs…because though that was the plan with “Hotline Bling,” Adele’s “Hello” came and knocked him out of the water.

It’s Official: Desiigner’s “Panda” Is The Number One Song In The Country

Love him or hate him, Desiigner now has the number one song in the entire country. Revealed just moments ago, this week’s Billboard Hot 100 list sees “Panda” at the top spot, moving up from runner-up last week and dethroning Rihanna and Drake’s “Work” in the process. While he has yet to release a follow-up record, the way things are going now, it’s possible the “one hit wonder” stigma will float right past him, as it did Fetty Wap. Is Brooklyn in the house?!

Rihanna and Drake’s “Work” Hits No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart

Rihanna is killing the game! The bad gal recently released her eighth studio album ‘ANTI’ and had been breaking all kinds of records. Shortly after ‘ANTI‘ went platinum she was announced as the first artist in history to receive 100M song award. Monday, Rihanna dropped the video for her song single ‘Work’ featuring Drake and the song shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. This marks 14 number one record for Rihanna, breaking her tie with Michael Jackson. According to Nielsen Music, ‘Work’ has made a huge jump with 73 percent more streams, totaling 25.8 million. Check out the video here. Congrats, Rihanna!
