West Coast rapper YG is not only a beast in the booth, but the California OG also is very talented in the acting department. Just a few weeks ago, YG held a private screening of his short-film entitled Blame It On The Streets in his hometown of Los Angeles followed by a New York and Atlanta screening . Many famous faces were in attendance such as DJ Mustard, Ty Dolla $ign, Karen Civil, Sage The Gemini and many more. The 30-minute long film captures street life on the West Coast, giving off a Boyz In Da Hood type of vibe, which is only right for a rapper such as YG who paints pictures of the Compton streets in his music on the reg. In case you were not able to attend any of the premiere parties for YG’s film, the entire movie has been uploaded on to Vimeo for our viewing pleasures. (Photos + Video) YG Premieres Short Film ‘Blame It On The Streets’ In L.A.

On Monday night, YG premiered his short film Blame It On The Streets in his hometown of Los Angeles, following screenings in New York City and Atlanta. Since he was in his own city, this by far was the biggest screening of the three, and tons of his famous friends showed up to support – from frequent collaborators DJ Mustard and Ty Dolla $ign, to Too $hort, Sage The Gemini, DJ Carisma, Eric Bellinger, IamSu!, Hit-Boy, Karen Civil and even the superstar herself, Ms. Fergie Ferg. The latter recently recruited both YG and Mustard for her new single “L.A. Love (LA LA),” which they all performed together at the American Music Awards on Sunday night. The screening went down just moments after the Ferguson decision was announced, and both Ty and IamSu! spoke on their disappointment while walking the red carpet.

After premiering his new short film Blame It On The Streets for industry tastemakers in NYC last night (by the way – it was AMAZING,) YG stopped by Hot 97 this morning to chop it up on the ‘Ebro In The Morning’ show with Ebro, Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg. Below, the Bompton rapper talks charity work, DJ Mustard’s infamously tight shirts and more. Blame It On The Streets and its corresponding soundtrack will be released on December 15.
