NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers Offer David Blatt a Championship Ring, He Responds

David Blatt was the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers until he was fired and replaced by Tyronn Lue midway through last season.  After the team’s incredible championship run, they offered Blatt a ring for his contributions.  Blatt, who is now coaching Darüşşafaka of the Turkish Basketball Super League, confirmed that he has accepted the offer.

Add Adrien Broner to the list of celebrities who decided to create their own championship rings; a list that includes Chris Brown and Drake.  Broner hit up Avianne & Co. in New York City and had them create a championship ring to celebrate his fourth world title in four different weight classes.

(Photo) Sports: Jeweler Dave Bling Shares The Story Behind Drake’s Championship Ring

Drake is rocking a nice, new, huge piece of jewelry on his finger in the form of his very own OVO championship ring. (Photos) Sports: Drake Has A New OVO Championship Ring, Is It Because He Defeated Meek Mill?

The internet has spoken very loudly and they have anointed Drake as the hands down winner over Meek Mill after Meek pretty much started everything. I am personally not much of Drake fan but if you’re going to come at someone who is on top, then you have to bring it harder than he did. Drake is now sporting a huge new “championship” ring and twitter went off, believing it was because he crushed Meek. The likely truth however is that this ring has been in the works for a while, but the timing couldn’t be better.

NBA: Carmelo Anthony Says “I know I’m a winner. I’ve won already”

Carmelo Anthony turned down a deal with the Chicago Bulls and instead signed a five-year, $124 million contract with the New York Knicks.  To some it proved that Anthony was totally out for the money even though he cited other reasons for returning to New York.  Whether he is indeed solely out for money or not, he has made more in NBA salary than anyone else selected in the famed 2003 draft class and will have earned more than $257 million by the time his contract with the Knicks expires in 2019.  Though he’s made more than anyone in that heralded draft class that includes LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, they have something he does not, championship rings.  Despite that, Anthony feels like he’s a winner in his own right.

NBA: Michael Jordan Says His NEXT Ring Will Mean the Most!

Michael Jordan has won six rings as a player in the NBA but as an owner things haven’t gone as well.   That however could be turning around.  With four seasons in as the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets, Jordan has his eyes on that seventh ring.
