NBA: Rajon Rondo Agrees to Two-Year, $28 Million Deal With Chicago Bulls

The dust from free agency is beginning to settle and the last set of big names are agreeing to contracts.  The latest is Rajon Rondo who has agreed to a two-year deal with the Chicago Bulls.

Jimmy Butler emerged as a great player when things weren’t going so well for Derrick Rose.  Butler got a max contract and a spot on the All-Star team with many people saying the Bulls were now his team and Rose was no longer the franchise player.  Those reports soon turned into rumors about friction between the two players and Rose was eventually traded to the New York Knicks.  In an interview on ESPN, Butler reiterated his love for Rose but admitted that one of them had to go from the team.

In a shocking move, the Chicago Bulls traded Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks.  In exchange for Rose, Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick, the Bulls received Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon, and Jerian Grant.  While some people feel the Knicks gave up too much for an injured Rose, others feel they gave up next to nothing for the former MVP.  Gilbert Arenas was part of the latter group.
