NBA: Knicks’ D-League Team Cuts Chris Smith (JR Smith’s Brother); Here’s Why…

Welp, it’s a wrap for JR Smith’s younger brother, Chris Smith.  He was sent to the Knicks’ D-League affiliate by the Knicks & now he’s been cut by the Erie BayHawks.  They announced the news this afternoon. Hit the jump to find out what happen…

(Photo) NBA: Is JR Smith Taking A Shot At The Knicks With This Picture??

Oh boy, I hope all this was a coincidence as far as timing, but it doesn’t look like it. A few days ago it was reported the Knicks were going to release Chris Smith, younger brother of JR. Later that same day he posted to his Instagram account a picture referring to betrayal. It is 100% understandable if JR feels salty that his brother was cut, because at the end of the day it’s family over everything. But let’s be real, Chris Smith would bust my ass on the court, but he is not an NBA player, period! Not right now anyway. Not too mention he is still making a guaranteed $490,000 this season regardless if he got cut or not. Do you really call that betrayal? That sounds like a come up for Chris if anything. This was a move the Knicks needed to make because that roster spot was just being wasted. I am sure at some point down the line another tea will give him a chance, but it definitely won’t be in New York. Should be grateful for the chance the Knicks gave him. Hit the jump for the pic. What you guys think?

NBA: Report, NBA GM’s & Knicks Staff Go IN On JR Smith’s Brother Chris!

I have been waiting for this topic to come up within the Knicks organization. Apparently I am not the only one either, judging by some comments made by General Managers from around the league. I have personally wondered since last season what provoked the Knicks to keep JR Smith’s younger brother Chris, around the team. He clearly is not an NBA player. That is not a diss, it is just a fact. What makes this story more concerning is it seems members of the actual Knicks staff also are wondering why he is there. Hit the jump.

NBA: J.R Smith Says There’s No Loyalty in Basketball

There’s been some controversy over J.R Smith’s brother Chris Smith getting a roster spot on the New York Knicks.  While Chris says he earned the spot many people think he got it as part of J.R’s agreement to re-sign with the team.  Most of the people speaking out about it are fans and media members but Pistons’ guard Brandon Jennings broke an unwritten code when he joined in on the criticism as well.

NBA: JR Smith’s Brother, Chris Smith, Reacts To Criticism!

Late last night JR Smith fired back at Brandon Jennings about his brother after Jennings questioned his spot in the league.  Chris Smith has been under a lot of criticism lately & he took to Twitter last night and then this afternoon to address it. Hey, at least the guy has a sense of humor about it.  Check it out…
