Auto: Chargers & Challengers Need To Be Recalled For Major Safety Issue

Most people love the new era of the Challengers and Chargers. A blast from the past with a modern look has turned doubters into believers. But just because certain cars wind up being big hits with fans and consumers, doesn’t mean they are exempt from things going wrong. Chrysler announced today they need to recall around 200,000 cars, with the big chunk being Charger & Challengers. The Chrysler 300, Jeep Liberty and the Dodge Nitro were also part of the recall. See why after the jump.

Auto: Bad News For Chrysler..Recalling Almost 300,000 Vehicles!!

Chrysler announced today that they are recalling almost 300,000 SUV’s and Trucks. The actual number is 278,222, which is a very high number for a recall. The reason for this is bad rear axles that may not have a adhesive patch that could cause a nut on the axle to loosen. If this happens, it would cause the rear axle to lock up, which would lead to countless accidents and most likely death in some cases because the driver would lose complete control of the car. The suv’s and trucks that are part of the recall are the Dodge Ram 1500 from 2009-2012, Dodge Dakotas from 2009-2011 and the Chrysler Aspen & Dodge Durango, both from 2009. The recall is effective March 1st, when customers can take the vehicles to dealerships and have everything repaired correctly. I hope all of the owners of these vehicles get the notice.

Auto:(Video) Watch The Birth Of The New SRT Viper! Mean!!

Remember about 10 years ago, when the Dodge Viper was one of those cars that turned heads and was in demand for the car lover who could afford it? Well it kind of faded over the years, and there has not been any in the past 3 years. That all changes now. The 2013 Dodge SRT Viper is ready to hit the road and the car is tough!! The Street Racing Technology (SRT) definitely enhances the car compared to earlier ones. The V10 engine will roar with 640HP to scare away anyone who wants to test one at a stoplight. Estimated that it will go 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 206mph, solidifies the Viper as a super sportscar. It will cost you around $100k for the base model, so be ready to open that wallet up. Check the video below of the first new Viper being put together at the plant, from the first engine part all the way until the test drive the finished product, it’s a hot video. IamJOE357

Auto Talk: Only about 5% of Chrysler dealers will sell SRT Viper

Back in May, we were the first to reveal that Chrysler was going to be requiring that its dealers meet certain special criteria to sell the 2013 SRT Viper. Now, USA Today is reporting that no more than 6.5 percent of Chrysler’s U.S. dealerships will earn the right to sell the new Viper. Of the 2,300 dealerships, “only about 100 to 150” will satisfy the qualifications SRT has deemed necessary to satisfy the “different kind of a customer” and “different approach” that the Viper requires. That’s far fewer outlets than the one-fifth of Chrysler’s dealer body that was rumored back in July. Funk Flex
