The lyrics in a new Rick Ross verse have been the topic of many a Twitter conversation as of late, as it’s quite appalling what he’s attempting to glorify in song. “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it,” he raps on Rocko’s “You Don’t Even Know” featuring himself and Future. “I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.” Basically, he drugged her up and then had sex with her while she was unaware of her surroundings. Insane! A Detroit radio station is now taking a stance, deciding to ban both his music and Lil Wayne’s for their violent and disturbing lyrics. Of the latter, he made a reference to the tragic story of Emmitt Til on Future’s “Karate Chop,” likening his brutal beating to sex. Check out the statement WUVS-LP The Beat made on their stance below. I think it’s amazing what they’re doing! I love both Wayne and Ross, but there needs to be some more responsibility put in place. They’re public figures, after all!
