NBA Rumors: Derrick Rose & Bulls Finalizing 5-Year, $94 Million Extension

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Derrick Rose was eligible to sign an early contract extension thanks to a new rule that allows rookies to get more money sooner if they reach certain performance benchmarks, and it appears he will sign that extension soon. Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman said he is finalizing a five-year, $94 million contract extension for the 2011 MVP, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.


NBA: Derrick Rose Honored with ‘Derrick Rose Rule’ in Proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose was surprised there’s a provision in the NBA’s pending new CBA that’s being called “The Derrick Rose Rule” and rewards players of his caliber. The rule allows a player finishing his rookie contract to make 30 percent of a team’s salary cap — up from 25 percent — if he’s twice been voted an All-Star starter, twice been voted All-NBA or won an MVP award. Rose, 23, is the reigning MVP.

NBA: Brian Scalabrine Says Derrick Rose Isn’t Ready & Throws Shot at Lebron?

Brian Scalabrine is currently playing in Italy during the lockout and doing quite well.  He sent down for an interview with Jorge Sierra of HoopsHype.com.  He was asked a variety of questions but one answer in particular was quite interesting.  Sierra asked if the Bulls were close to the level of last seasons Celtics and Heat teams.  He also threw a subtle shot at Lebron James.  Check his answer after the jump. @Shay_Marie x @gametimegirl
