Iggy Azalea Reveals Reason For Album Delay

Iggy Azalea was set to release her sophomore album, Digital Distortion, this past July. The “Fancy” rapper put out two singles in promotion of it, one of which she was pushing hard and performing at awards shows and TV appearances. Then, her personal life fell apart. “I needed a lot of time,” she told PEOPLE about the delay. “I mean, you wake up one morning and your fiancé is having a baby with someone else, you’re going to need some time, right?”

Iggy Azalea has spent the latter half of 2015 working on her sophomore effort, which we recently learned is named Digital Distortion. Though she’s been on yet another Twitter hiatus as of late, Erykah Badu’s surprising shade last week nudged Iggy from her slumber, and she’s back to being active on the social network once again. With that, the Australian import has decided to preview some new music, and she did so in the form of a quick clip from the studio. The track, “7teen,” has a trap feel to it, and she fittingly shouts out two of the people at the forefront of the current trap movement – Future and DJ Esco. Iggy Azalea Reveals Sophomore Album Title + New Music Details

Iggy Azalea has been quiet on the music front for some time now, as she took a while off to enjoy her engagement with NBA star Nick Young – and to stay away from the excessive amount of fans/critics she’s seemed to rub the wrong way. However, it appears she’s quietly been working on new stuff, and she revealed on Twitter yesterday that her sophomore album has already gotten a title. While replying to a fan, Iggz announced that the follow-up to The New Classic will be titled Digital Distortion, and the first single is coming this month!
